historical document reveals philanthropy of King Abdul Aziz
Riyadh: A historical letter recently unveiled reveals that the late King Abdul Aziz had stopped direct Hajj missions of government for six years so that the money saved could be given to the poor, especially those who could not afford to perform Haj. The letter also states that he personally supervised the Haj efforts and directed the Hajj missions of government during his reign. Professor Omar bin Saleh Al-Omari, supervisor of President Abdul Aziz King for Kingdom History Studies, said that details of the king's actions in the letter.
"The late Prince Abdullah Al-Faisal wrote a letter to an official in November 1941, when he was then governor of Qassim, delivering the apology of King Abdul Aziz that he would not personally lead Haj this year. The letter was his orders to distribute Haj poor spending, "said Al-Omari
the letter said :." in the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful. from Abdullah bin Faisal to his brother Muhammad Al -Abdullah bin Rubayan, peace be with you. We inform you that the Imam (King Abdul Aziz) will not work Haj this year to save annual expenditures to Mecca for distribution to the poor. He ordered that we deliver this message for you. " Many other historical documents also showed philanthropy and compassion of the King Abdul Aziz for his people and pilgrims. He received a doctor each foreign Haj Mission in 1926. Three years later, he set up a school to educate and train Haj "Tawafa" guides.
