A special village for orphans, abandoned children and children of unknown parents is being built in Umm Al Qaiwain in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) in the lines of the famous SOS Children. The Ministry of Social Affairs said that the village, officially called "The Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan Social Care Village", is built and funded by the Khalifa bin Zayed Humanitarian
Foundation. The village aims to meet the psychological, spiritual, mental and social needs of children who are deprived of families, the ministry said. unknown parents of the children will be provided with host families and integrated into the community. The project to help
up to 300 children consists of a group of high quality residences, each of which can accommodate up to six children each.
