A young Saudi woman has developed an Arabic electronic coffee for commercial purposes, as stated by King Abdul Aziz City for Science and Technology (KACST) officials recently .
Saudi entrepreneur, Lateefa Alwaalan came up with this innovation with the cooperation of the Badir Program for Technology Incubators, which operates under the aegis of KACST. According to an official of the Badir program, the new machine, which is available on the market, is similar to the popular Keurig machines. He said the machine, the first of its kind, was produced in the kingdom by a young Saudi woman who had successfully completed his MBA at the University of Washington. "We are proud of this achievement," he added. Badir is a program of the incubator launched by KACST technology in 07. "Badir" means "to run" and is a national program aimed at accelerating the growth of emerging technology companies in Saudi Arabia. The program is open to all Saudi technology entrepreneurs who have a business prototype or proof of concept product or service based technology at an early stage that can benefit from incubation. Alwaalan said it takes about 30 minutes to prepare a decoction and that the new machine would save time. The product, called "Yatook," has two types of machines.
