Kosher Iftar: UK Synagogue mark Ramadan with Interfaith meal
During the recent escalation of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, Jews and Muslims in London sat down to break bread.

A synagogue based in the UK hosted its first Iftar with members of two local Jewish and Muslim communities. As part of a national initiative underway, known as "Big iftar", the breaking of the Ramadan fast was held in the northwestern Reform synagogue in London. With Ramadan is a time of reflection and peace, interfaith Jewish Muslim iftar at the synagogue, was a way of "Jewish and Muslim communities to come together in the UK to provide a glimmer of hope for our fellow believers the Middle East, "according to Mustafa field, director of Faiths Forum in London.
"Come in the synagogue of joy!" Proclaimed Rabbi Maurice Michaels at the official introduction to the iftar. What followed was a consensus by the organizers to a commitment not to allow unrest in the region Middle East negatively impact on community cohesion in the UK between the two religious communities.
Laura Marks, Vice President of the Board of deputies of British Jews, speaking to Al Arabiya News about the event says . "it is these specific relationships that matter We want our children to grow up knowing their neighbors and treat them as friends rather than suspicion" it was a night to mingle, feasts and future together, based more on. the common points of the two Abrahamic religions than political differences. After the jovial greetings of "Ramadan Kareem" between hosts and guests, members of both communities mixed naturally in conversation with each other. fasting experiments provided the platform for engagement; if comparing the Jewish and Muslim practices of fasting and spiritual sharing awakening.Throughout accounts evening there were regular reminders that "the cohesion of the community does not happen by chance" reinforce the importance of interfaith initiatives
