Riyadh President and CEO of Saudi Aramco Khalid A. Al-Falih inaugurated 3.5 megawatts field of solar energy in Riyadh December 25, 2012, according to a report in Gulf Today, in its issue dated 17 January the energy field spread on 55,000 square meters, was installed by King Abdullah Petroleum Studies and Research Center. It will feed the Saudi central grid 5800 megawatt hours of electricity per year. The field uses fixed angle polycrastalline 12.684 PV modules supplied by Suntech with 14.4% efficiency and maximum power of 280 watts in standard test conditions, the report cited. The power will offset carbon emissions by about 400 tons annually
