Barcoded Mina tents to help the pilgrims
Jeddah: The Hajj pilgrims who perform the Hajj this year will be able to track their scores with the help of barcodes, in case they misplace far from them. Each pilgrim will be given bracelets containing their personal bar code and if any pilgrim lost his way, Scouts will be able to guide them using these barcodes. Saudi Hajj Ministry directs Hajj organizations worldwide to issue these barcodes.
Mohammed Al-Ruwaished, head of the information technology committee to scout camp Presidency of Youth Welfare said new roads and bridges in the holy sites of Mina, Arafat and Muzdalifa are added Google maps to help pilgrims make impressions of these cards from around the world.
a related development, Rawwas Eissa, the Saudi deputy minister Haj for Umrah Affairs, said the implementation of the electronic gateway system Haj would be made compulsory from next year. The system will be linked with Haj visas. "We applied the first phase of the system this year," he said, adding that the next phase would start on Rabiul Awwal 1, 1436 (23 December). He said that the department has deployed 1,500 staff to ensure the smooth movement of pilgrims to their tents to Jamrat for the ritual of stoning. Rawwas said the ministry asked all agencies Hajj to keep 50% of their pilgrims in Mina on 13 Dhul Hijjah in the coming years to avoid overcrowding the "gob" or area of circumambulation around the Kaaba in Mecca. "Last year, we noticed that only 300,000 pilgrims remain in Mina for the third day of stoning at Jamrat," he said.
As Arafat Day this year falls on Friday, many pilgrims are expected to join the annual pilgrimage. Hatim Qadi, spokesman for the Hajj Ministry, said his ministry was not afraid of the strong involvement of the pilgrims on Friday because the arrangements were made to accommodate the guests of God.
"the government has taken measures to prevent the entry of illegal pilgrims who are without valid Haj permits," he said, adding that the stiff sentence would be imposed on these offenders. "People should think several times before breaking the rules and regulations of the country", he added
