Islamabad:
The opening of the first free Pakistan sect mosque is a refreshing change from violence nun who was plaguing the country for years. At the foot of the Margalla Hills in Islamabad, a businessman, Zahid Iqbal built a mosque. This mosque, called Darul Iman Jamia Masjid Qurtuba, is spartan in appearance, but the message it sends is even more powerful. In a time when sectarian conflict is steadily climbing and Hazara Shiites in particular were subjected to ethnic cleansing, this mosque welcomes visitors with a sign that reads,
"This mosque does not discriminate between all sects and welcomes all Muslims. "
However, this is not where the deviation from the standard finishes. The mosque also houses a separate separate section for women and contains a library with religious books that match and contain information about all the different sects.
The completion of Darul Iman Jamia Masjid Qurtuba is the first of many steps that must be taken to end to religious violence in the country. It is only when the message of love and peace is strong enough that hatred can really be eradicated from our hearts
