Pets Strain feeling of Turmoil in Egypt
Cairo Political unrest in Egypt is not only taking a toll on people living in the bloody violence country, animals are also feeling the strain. Giraffes, rhinos, elephants and deer contemplating suicide, Egyptian newspaper al-Masry al-Youm reported last fortnight, citing shots and protester chants as reasons behind the alleged agony zoo animals. Cairo zoo psychologists told the newspaper that they believe is suicidal animal. Recent demonstrations took place near the zoo, located in Giza, with staff saying that the shots could be heard from inside. The psychologists noted that animals have an acute sense of hearing, prompting giraffes, elephants, deer and even bears, hitting the walls and fences surrounding their enclosure, they thought attempts of self-harm. The sense of fear has even led to the animals crying, psychologists have said. At one point, the protesters were armed inside the Cairo Zoo, near the Nahda protest camp, shooting to the police.
