OIC TV Channel against Islamophobia
Libreville, Republic of Gabon: The 57 members of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) announced its plan to establish a satellite channel and promote investment in media to fight against Islamophobia, and to improve the exchange of information between Member States. "We have a number of important proposals to strengthen Islamic media activities. They included the launch of a satellite channel of the OIC," Secretary General of OIC Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu told a conference 9th session of "the Islamic Conference of information Ministers" in Libreville, Gabon, for fifteen days. The OIC chief also called on businessmen and Muslim women to finance the new channel as well as invest in major media organizations that are already making substantial profits to "exchange information and world news Muslim and project the true image of Islam. "the OIC, which is the second largest international organization after the UN, has defined a strategy to fight against what he called" growing intolerance against Islam and Muslims in the West.
