Iraqi women take up arms against the ISIL terrorists
Hundreds of women were armed to fight against the Islamic State of Iraq and militants Levant (ISIL) Takfiri on behalf of the Kurdish population of Iraq.
Women Kurdistani Pishmarga the 2nd Battalion, a group of 550 women led by Colonel Nahida Ahmad Rashid, is preparing for battle, Al-Alam reported.
"It is an honor to be part of a modern Muslim country that allows women to defend the motherland," a mother said the unidentified battalion. The battalion has not faced the ISIL terrorists, but has been training in the Kurdish city of Sulaymaniyah in northern Iraq. Another member of the battalion, who is four months pregnant and has a 5 year old daughter, said she will go to the front line if called. "This is my duty, no matter if I carry a child or not," she said
