WAMY Organize Volunteer Program in London
Jeddah: The London branch of the World Assembly of Muslim Youth (WAMY) organized a volunteer program in central London, during which leaflets highlighting the compassion and moderation of Islam, and roses were distributed among passers-by. The leaflets contained a wide selection of verses from the Koran and Hadith (words of the Prophet Muhammad). WAMY said in a statement that this initiative comes in response to calls of hatred and intimidation of the growth of Islam in Europe, and encourage people to read more about the Koran and the Prophet's teachings. The WAMY noted that this initiation also comes after the attack on the Prophet of Islam and the re-publication of cartoons by French magazine Charlie Hebdo. The director of the London office Ekhalch Belkacem said, the response to this initiative was good, positive and encouraging the public, as we explained some of the features and attributes of the Prophet, and gave them roses and desserts.
