Saudi woman elected as councilor Panel United Nations Urbanization
Jeddah: A Saudi woman was elected to the Advisory Council of the habitat of the United Nations Youth for two-year term as a consultant on Saudi Cities program future, Arab News reported.
According Dar Al-Hekma University, Lama Al-Sharif is the only representative of the Gulf in the Board of Directors, and is one of 16 young people voted on the edge of the board 0 which applied in whole world.
President of Dar Al-Hekma University praised Al-Sharif, saying the institution was proud to have helped her develop the skills necessary for the "real world." Al-Sharif received a Bachelor's degree in Management Information Systems University of Dar Al-Hekma and earned a degree in international relations and diplomacy from the US Tufts University. She recently completed her MA in International Relations University of Dar Al-Hekma.
Al-Sharif is the founder and director of Shababuna consultancy and awareness program and Forum, which focuses on youth empowerment, and was involved in volunteer projects since she was 11.
