New York Hailed as "the supermarket kosher hero Paris," Lassana Bathily, a Muslim employee who saved 15 Jews french during a terrorist attack, was honored in New York last month. Bathily was flown to New York to be honored at the annual dinner of scholarship NYPD Muslim officers Society, the New York Daily News reported. with him an official proclamation from the city of honor for his actions in the attack a supermarket in Paris on 9 January, Mayor of New York, Bill de Blasio called Bathily a "true hero". Blasio said the 24-year- old Muslim hero "stood up to protect human life, even when her life is in danger," the honorary ceremony was held at the Islamic Center of Brighton Beach.
